Alumna of the Year: Joanna Taft ’85
Joanna is founder and director of the Harrison Center for the Arts in Indianapolis, IN. The Harrison Center provides affordable studio space for artists around the city. The space allows artists to flourish, enhancing both the community and the culture of the city. She was also a leader in the founding of The Oaks Academy and Herron High School, two charter schools. She and her husband, Bill, have been at the forefront of the development of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and a wide range of community development initiatives in Indianapolis. She regularly recruits µÂÓ®ÌåÓý students as interns and employees.
Joanna has served as an advisor to the Board of Trustees since 2009. Joanna and Bill have three children: Rebekah ’14, Susanna ’16, and Michael ’17.
