How did you hear about Covenant and why did you choose Covenant?
Covenant offers an education that is challenging, serious about the faith, and committed to my success. I confidently chose this school knowing that worship and scripture would be prioritized on our campus.
What aspect of Covenant do you like best?
I am so happy with the sincere community we have as students with our staff and faculty. They consistently invest in us both as students and as fellow believers. Covenant is home for all of us who are here.
What about the professors and/or academics has impacted you the most?
The academic challenge that professors give us and how they treat views that are not their own with respect while teaching have helped me grow in my skills and in my character. I see the professors here as strong examples of Christ-like academics who take education and other people seriously.
What part of your major do you most enjoy or feel most prepared by?
The philosophy department has taught me how to be faithful to finding the truth and apply myself in everything I do here. The professors have encouraged me in my pursuits outside of philosophy and demonstrate a commitment to helping us thoroughly answer challenging questions about our philosophical studies and about our responsibilities as believers in the world.
What do you hope to pursue after Covenant and how do you see Covenant supporting your future career or calling?
I am hopeful to continue pursuing ministry, language studies, and potentially more education. I know that my professors will keep in touch with me after I graduate and continue to help me in any way that they can, and that the Covenant community will remain in prayer for me and other future alumni as they have for those before us.
How is Covenant equipping you for active membership in the church or discipleship within the body of Christ?
Our campus life and staff and faculty are very community-oriented. Many of them host meals for students, RA's host prayer and praise on Sunday evenings, and we have chapel three times a week. Covenant has built a strong community bond for me and shown me how to love others in the church and engage with them in worship.
In what ways does Covenant foster spiritual formation that stands out to you?
Our professors are committed to strengthening our faith and helping us work through hard questions. Our supervisors also lead us in pursuit of stewardship and pray over us individually throughout the year.
How has the Covenant community supported your development as a whole person?
Everyone at Covenant is so encouraging of different gifts and skills. I have had professors and staff push me towards pursuing classes outside of my major that will help me in my development, and I've been given opportunities as a student leader to engage with the school in a professional setting. Our residence life communities have given me friendships, fun, laughter, and adventures that I will carry with me into the rest of my life.
How have your relationships at Covenant shaped your expectations for the other communities God will call you to in life?
I have had wonderful moments, hard moments, and opportunities to forgive, be forgiven, and exercise patience. Students and leaders here encourage us towards reconciliation, deep friendship, and contentment, so I feel hopeful for life after Covenant that I can build bonds with others like these.
What is your favorite memory from your time at Covenant?
My favorite memories are with my joyful and enthusiastic friends and professors in the music department. I love chamber tour and the Christmas concerts where we all come together, make wonderful music, and celebrate the joy of worshiping Christ with friends and relatives of all ages and places.
