How did you hear about Covenant and why did you choose Covenant?

Covenant was always around me when I was growing up. Everyone I knew either worked there or graduated from there. I wanted to partake in the institution which shaped so much of what I knew and loved!

What aspect of Covenant do you like best?

I love the professors and the traditions.

What about the professors and/or academics has impacted you the most?

They are personable and care for their students. While still being experts in their field, they are approachable, faithful, and kind.

What part of your major do you most enjoy or feel most prepared by?

I love the small class sizes and flexibility allowing for rich conversations. The major has prepared me to write and present research well. It has also equipped me to ask good questions and welcome curiosity!

What do you hope to pursue after Covenant and how do you see Covenant supporting your future career or calling?

I am preparing to go to nursing school this fall after I graduate. The college has prepared me both spiritually, academically, and relationally. After studying with and among strong Christians curious about God's word, I feel equipped to take my faith into a secular environment and share about Jesus. Covenant's academic program (Bible and Biology courses as well as the core) challenged me enough so that I feel confident entering a rigorous accelerated nursing program. Finally, I am supported by spiritually rich friendships as I transition out of Covenant soon!

How is Covenant equipping you for active membership in the church or discipleship within the body of Christ?

Covenant has equipped me with literacy to tackle different topics of tension in the church and in our culture today. I am confident in the truth of the Word of God and Jesus' sovereignty in today's culture. Thanks to my classes and the models I had here at Covenant, I feel prepared to share my faith clearly and confidently.

In what ways does Covenant foster spiritual formation that stands out to you?

I think that Covenant's intentional student leadership program has done well in fostering both spiritual and personal growth. However, it is the classroom where I am most challenged to encounter Jesus in all aspects of my life.

How has the Covenant community supported your development as a whole person?

Since all the employees are on the same page about the mission, the different spheres of life at Covenant usually harmonize. For example, when I ran Cross Country and Track, my coach understood my desire to grow spiritually and develop academically. My professors also understand that their purpose is to show Christ's preeminence in their field, and to facilitate their students' flourishing. Hall life's goal is to unify students to glorify Christ together. Of course, on this side of heaven, the goals are not perfectly reached. But Covenant seeks to honor Christ and I have benefited from how everyone seeks the same goal.

How have your relationships at Covenant shaped your expectations for the other communities God will call you to in life?

I expect to have serious and spiritually nourishing friendships since I have experienced how rich those friendships can be. I expect to be challenged, supported, and able to be honest in my friendships as I leave Covenant.

What is your favorite memory from your time at Covenant?

I loved my Cross Country and Track memories, and going to lots of last minute concerts with friends on the weekends!
