How did you hear about Covenant and why did you choose Covenant?
I believed that it would be the best place for me to grow in my faith with a Christ-centered curriculum and community while preparing for a career as an educator.
What aspect of Covenant do you like best?
The tight-knit community
What about the professors and/or academics has impacted you the most?
I have loved the way the professors connect content between disciplines and integrate faith into classes to create a more holistic educational experience.
What part of your major do you most enjoy or feel most prepared by?
My English classes have not only made me a much better writer, but also equipped me to think about and relate concepts in a more helpful way. I feel like I now have the tools I need to work well in my field.
What do you hope to pursue after Covenant and how do you see Covenant supporting your future career or calling?
I am hoping to become an ESL teacher, and will be attending graduate school to obtain my MAT with a TESOL concentration. Covenant has given me a greater love for cultural diversity that I would love to pursue in the future through some type of intercultural ministry!
How is Covenant equipping you for active membership in the church or discipleship within the body of Christ?
My experience as an RA during my time at Covenant has equipped me to disciple others who are walking through very different and challenging life circumstances. It has given me more tools to serve the Lord and others!
In what ways does Covenant foster spiritual formation that stands out to you?
Covenant fosters an environment where Christ truly is preeminent. There are endless opportunities to grow in your relationship with Christ by meeting with mentors, attending Bible studies, or finding a place to serve.
How has the Covenant community supported your development as a whole person?
I think that Covenant’s focus on a holistic approach to education shows up in every aspect of the environment here. It has been amazing to have resources to help with many different types of challenges through my time in college!
How have your relationships at Covenant shaped your expectations for the other communities God will call you to in life?
My relationships here have taught me to be present with, listen to, and serve others selflessly. I am excited to be able to disciple others wherever the Lord calls me to in the future!
What is your favorite memory from your time at Covenant?
Collecting unhinged quotes and videos with my roommates.
